Last Thursday night’s prayer focus was Wayne and Ashley Salter, two alumni that are an incredible part of GTCCF family. They are going through a special journey in their life right now you may have read from Rick’s emails. Through their journey we, GTCCF alumni and student community, have gathered in prayer all around the world and taken pictures that say “Pray for Ashley.” The video posted here is all the pictures GTCCF family has sent in over the last month to show their love and support for Ashley and Wayne. This was presented as a slide show to them on Thursday as a big surprise. There was also a photobook made by Merran Tatum and Kara Kynast to give them. And even more photos went up during worship which are also pictured. And to top it all off, alumni visited from all around the country to see them on Thursday night as a HUGE surprise! Ashley and Wayne were loved on, encouraged, and prayed for. What a prayer focus, let’s continue to pray for miraculous healing!! Wayne and Ashley we love you and thank you for your example of a fun spirited, supportive, and generous marriage. Yall are such a gift to the GTCCF family! We love you!

Thank you to all the alumni that participated in sending in pictures and that visited on Thursday night.

If you are a GTCCF alumni and have not received updates about the Salter’s please email Ashley Teffeau at ashleyccf@gmail.com to be added to the alumni email list to get further details.

Monday night, after a Freshmen Bible Study about worrying and how to not do it, we had a little Karaoke night. About half of the freshmen stayed around and they had so much fun. It’s always silly to watch people who love singing and dancing for others. It just makes me grin. And I love that they have a place where they can come and scream into a microphone in front of people they don’t even know that well. Little do they know that some of those listening will become a part of their lasting community.

This freshmen class is so sweet and has been open to any challenge we’ve ever given them. That’s why on Sunday night we’re having a special time to talk to them about what it means to be a leader and then to challenge them to do just that. Through group games and talking to them, we’re going to challenge them to step up what they do around here. To be a class that starts to take its own place and lead by serving. And not just through things within CCF, but also in terms of helping the community around us at GT and the bigger community of downtown Atlanta. And within that, we’re going to ask them to be sophomore leaders here next year. I know they will respond and I’m pretty excited about what that response will be and how it will change the face of CCF.

Freshmen world is alive and kicking. We just had our last freshparty (freshmen bible study) for the semester and it was great. We said goodbye to one of the first freshmen we met at Tech this year as he is transferring; we listened to a student shared about why she loves the lead up to Christmas and talked about advent; we fell asleep to the Christmas story after we heard Linas talk about the real meaning of Christmas; we woke up “Christmas morning” and opened white elephant presents for over an hour. This year’s freshmen class filled up the house.

When you begin a year with nervous interns who don’t know a soul, a night like tonight is a great thing to build on. As we plan and dream for the next semester, we have students to dream for and to pray for and to build with. These students are the base for the years to come. Next semester it will be time for them to invite people in, welcome them and get them to come back. They are a talented class; I’m excited to see them take even more ownership of this place. Thanks for all you do for us here, we couldn’t do ministry here without y’all being a part of us. Merry Christmas!
